[Studio]

We’ve always been a small team. Every piece is looked after by the people who make it.

How it started

Before Zolplay, I wrote code at a game studio in Seattle. My attention kept drifting to the interface and how it felt. I cared a lot about whether that first moment with a product felt right.

Sean ran that studio. One day he asked if I’d build a product with him from scratch. No big plan, only his trust in me. Zolplay started with that trust.

We opened in 2021 with one project and one belief. Work made with care outlasts work made at volume.

Every project since has tested it. I still believe it today: the details are the whole point.

Those details were never the small stuff.

What we’ve always held to

Know why first. Before we start, we ask why this should exist and who it’s for. Once that idea holds up, color and type start to mean something.

You see it as it’s made. We show you the work while it’s still in progress and explain the reason behind every decision. Your honest reaction helps us more than anything.

Ship the thing you meant. We stay through the last detail, so the part that won you over at the start is still all there when it goes live.

Five steps, from listening to launch

01

Listen

We listen before we make anything. What you’re building, who it’s for, why they’d choose you, what success looks like: we talk it all through first. Get the question right, and nothing later goes to waste.

02

Choose

Every direction we show you is already polished. None of them are throwaway sketches: each is one we’d be proud to ship. We’ll tell you which one we’d pick and why, and once we choose, we commit together.

03

Make

You watch the work take shape. The Figma file is open from day one, and we design the flows, components, states, and interactions as one system. The goal isn’t a pretty mockup. It’s something your team can actually build from.

04

Iterations

Feedback should make the work sharper, not just different. We share, explain, listen, and refine, over comments, a recorded walkthrough, or a quick call, whichever is easiest. Most teams see real progress in the first week and a first design round within 5 to 10 days.

05

Ship

Sign-off isn’t the finish line. We can hand over annotated, build-ready design files, or build it ourselves. We’re done only when what goes live matches the design you approved.
